iPhone 15 CAD Renders: A Sneak Peek at the Future of Apple's Flagship Smartphone

The iPhone 15 is the upcoming flagship smartphone from Apple, expected to launch in the fall of 2023. While there's still a lot we don't know about the device, leaked CAD renders obtained by 9To5Mac give us a sneak peek at what we can expect from Apple's next-generation iPhone.

Design

According to the CAD renders, the iPhone 15 is expected to feature a completely redesigned body with a more angular, boxy shape reminiscent of the iPhone 4. The front of the device is expected to feature a smaller notch, while the rear camera module is rumored to be larger and more prominent.

Display

The iPhone 15 is rumored to feature a 6.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2778 x 1284 pixels. While the display size and resolution are similar to those of the iPhone 13, the iPhone 15 is expected to feature an LTPO panel, which should offer improved power efficiency and better support for variable refresh rates.

Cameras

The CAD renders suggest that the iPhone 15 will feature a triple-camera setup on the rear of the device, with the lenses arranged in a triangular configuration. It's not yet clear what the individual camera specs will be, but we can expect improvements to low-light performance and zoom capabilities.

Processor and Battery

The iPhone 15 is expected to be powered by Apple's next-generation A17 chip, which should offer significant improvements in performance and power efficiency over the current A15 chip. The device is also rumored to feature a larger battery than its predecessor, which should provide longer battery life.

Connectivity

The iPhone 15 is expected to feature support for 5G connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi 6E, which offers faster speeds and better range than previous Wi-Fi standards. The device is also rumored to feature a USB-C port instead of the Lightning port currently used by Apple's iPhones.

Conclusion

While these CAD renders are not official, they do give us an idea of what Apple may be planning for the iPhone 15. With a completely redesigned body, improved display technology, and upgraded cameras, the iPhone 15 is shaping up to be an impressive device. Of course, we won't know for sure what the iPhone 15 will look like or what features it will offer until Apple officially announces it later this year. But based on these CAD renders, it's clear that Apple is once again pushing the boundaries of what's possible in a smartphone.
